One of the first things to consider when planning your engagement session is what you will use the images for. Although you might not have any plans other framing a few prints, many couples end up using engagement photos on their wedding website, “save the date” cards, or invitations. Some couples even have a few of their engagement photos on display at their wedding.
It’s a good idea to consider those options when you start planning your engagement session, because it will help you decide on factors like the location and any specific shots you may want us to get.
If you have kids (of either the human or animal variety), you may want to consider including them in your engagement session - it’s a great opportunity to have a beautiful photo of the whole family. However, it will probably be wise to have someone else accompany you to the shoot to watch the children or take the dog for a walk while you finish your photos. After all, you and your fiancé are the main focus of the engagement session, and it’s important that we get to spend most of the shoot capturing the two of you.
Stay tuned for our next post as we talk a little bit more choosing the perfect location for your session!
